Marine WiFi Repeater and Cellular 3G Repeater for Yachts (Internet and Voice Sharing Systems)

Marine WiFi “Signal” Repeater - WiFi Sharing System

Many sail and motor yachts are looking for ways to save money on their Internet Access and provide that Internet Access to the whole boat - rather than having individual computers logging on to WiFi Signals, with mixed results because of weak signals, and Cellular Internet - which normally is used with a laptop card or dongle for one computer only. Cellular Fast Internet requires a monthly fee and contracts lasting 1 or 2 years… so there’s a benefit of sharing that connection with multiple laptops and desktop computers onboard a yacht. WiFi Signals are often difficult to lock onto from inside of a yacht and if they cost periodic access fees then there’s definately a benefit there to share 1 signal onto the entire yacht.

Satellite Systems are also often available on yachts, but the cost of access is always very high when compared to other Internet Access Methods. Typically in the dollars-per-megaByte range or dollars-per-minute range … and the cost of using Satellite Internet can add up very rapidly doing just ordinary things that users on land (e.g. DSL, Cable Modem) take for grant it.

Alan Spicer Marine Telecom provides options and solutions for yachts to help cut these costs of Internet Access - as well as providing ways to save on Voice Telephone costs as well, while in dock in the U.S. as well as while traveling the world. Many yachts sail the Carribean and Bahamas in the Winter Months, as well as others coming from … and sailing Europe / The Mediterranean Sea area of the world for parts of the year. The trick then is how to tailor your Internet and Voice communications systems to give you the most options and least costs for any given geographical location.

Pictured above is the WiFi Hotspot “Repeater” or WiFi Signal Sharing System that Alan Spicer provides and can install for sail and motor yachts. The system works in U.S. and Worldwide Locations for both U.S. and International WiFi Channels. That’s important because the channels do vary, for example Europe has 2 more channels available than the U.S. The Carribean may vary depending on wether hotspots follow the U.S. or European WiFi Channel Systems. You also want a system that puts out a higher power signal and has a good antenna system to pull in weaker signals. Sometimes the signal is not “right there” but a couple of miles away. Sometimes you are at anchor off of a marina and you still want to receive their signal. You want to share whatever signal you can get - onto a network onboard the yacht - so that everyone is on the same page, everyone is on the same signal.

Also pictured above is the Ericsson W25 3G Cellular “Repeater” system or Cellular Internet and Voice Sharing System. This system is capable of taking GSM 2G, 2.5G, and 3G Internet Signals and sharing them onto an onboard network. Not only that - but it also provides Analog Telephone jack to allow the Cellular Voice Service to be shared to standard telephone sets and PBX (Private Branch Exchange) Office Type of Telephone Systems. You also want to receive the cellular signal much improved from what a handheld cellular device can do, or a laptop dongle or Internet Card can do. You want to share that Internet Connection to the whole yacht so that everyone is on that same Internet Signal.

You want someone in your court - that keeps up with Marine / Yacht Internet Access Systems and ways to use them to pick the best signal or service for a particular location in order to save money on your telecommunications bills (voice and Internet Access bills.) You want someone who knows how to build networks onboard a yacht and how to switch and make multiple Internet Connections (such as Satellite, Cellular, and WiFi) an “Easy” thing to do on a day to day basis. You need something that “just works” and is easy to use.

Well we have it. These two systems have been deployed on many yachts along with the onboard networking to share them to laptops and other network devices… including the network structure onboard for wireless laptops and such, wired computer networking, and the ability to switch in the desired Internet System and thus connect it onto the whole boat.

While we’re at it… we also service computers (desktop and laptop), Install Navigation Sofware and Charts, Connect GPS and Radar Signals to Computers, Clean up computers of problems - viruses - spyware, and recommend and provide replacement or upgrade computers as you need them. We come to the boat - pick things up for service - quote on them - and deliver them back to the boat. Printers, Faxes, and other things can be serviced or replaced as well. If you think we can do it, we likely can.

We also have the capability to help you with other marine electronics, through an affiliate, so if you have general marine electronics or audio - video - satellite tv needs - give us a call as well. We’ll arrange a visit and assist you with all of your needs in these areas.

Give us a call… Marine WiFi and Cellular 3G Systems are on Special Pricing right now.
