Solutions / Possible Uses for Cradlepoint Cellular Wireless Mobile Broadband Products from Alan Spicer Telecom
* Here are some solutions / possible uses for Cradlepoint Technology Cellular Wireless Mobile Broadband Router Products from Alan Spicer Telecom / Marine Telecom:
1.) Kiosks / Digital Signage - Often Kiosks with their own computer, often Point-of-Sale, etc. need access to the Internet in order to function. Often the site does not have such Internet Access - or that Internet access cannot be used/shared with a Kiosk or Digital Sign Installation. Self-service kiosk transactions top $1.7 Trillion by 2012 - IHL Group, Inc.
2.) Remote Locations - Anywhere that you can think of that it’s difficult to get Internet into that area. As long as you have 3G or 4G Cellular Coverage now you have an opportunity to create a WiFi Hotspot and/or to connect regular CAT5 wired network devices (called: Ethernet LAN.)
3.) Mobile / Portable Applications - Anything that moves can carry it’s own 3G/4G supported WiFi Hotspot and Wired Ethernet Internet! Movable Offices - Construction Sites and Construction Vehicles - Remote Data Acquisition and Metering - Geographically Seperates areas (off coastal houses out of wire line reach) - Sailing and Motor Yachts and other Marine Vessels and Platforms.
4.) Small / Medium Size Businesses - Not just offices, which of course need to remain online to conduct operations and business, but Retail Operations - Point-of-Sale (grocery, merchandise and specialty stores, convenience stores) … If their Internet goes down the situation can be like this: Customers start putting things back on the shelves or on the racks because the store cannot process the Credit Card or Debit Card sales to serve them. With Cradlepoint when the DSL or T1 or whatever Main Internet goes down … it kicks over automatically to 3G or 4G cellular card service and Business goes on normally as if no Internet Outage ever happened!
* Benefits
- Reliable High-Speed Connection
- Flexibility
- Rapid Deployment
- Low Cost - Compare $800 - $1000 routers - Cradlepoint has 95% of the functionality of the high end routers at 20% of the cost.
* Often, say in a storm - hurricane - disaster situation Everything goes down. But cellular remains up. Which brings up Emergency Network Operations Centers often run by government agencies (and often manned by Amateur Radio “Ham Radio” Operators among other personnel.)
