Press Release: WiFiYacht.Net - LightSpeed Version 2 - Marine WiFi Hotspot Sharing System
15. June 2010 by admin.
I have uploaded the new brochure to the web site http://www.wifiyacht.net with the updated specifications for “LightSpeed Version 2″.
I get asked very often what to use on a sail or motor yacht traveling to the Bahamas and/or the Caribbean for Internet Access (or elsewhere outside of, say California… but you get the point, Outside of the U.S.) I normally recommend Ericsson W35 (we sell those systems as well) and our own LightSpeed Marine WiFi Hotspot Sharing System. You’ve got to be very careful with 3G Cellular outside of the US since it’s very easy to run up a huge bill from Cellular Internet Roaming. For that reason I recommend adding on Internet Roaming with your cellular provider and knowing and keeping track of your usage on cellular, including Internet usage. I also recommend having a WiFi Hotspot Sharing System made for Marine to allow you to switch to that to save money on Internet when WiFi Hotspot Internet is available. Yes - often WiFi costs money as well. But not $1500 or $2000 a month that’s for sure!
The LightSpeed 2 System has the following updates:
**** Up to 800mW Transmit Power (depending on 802.11b? or 802.11g in use)
**** Up to 4000mW (4 Watts) using a 9dB Gain Marine Omni Antenna (we supply these)
**** Highly Sensitive Receiver!
**** Powerful, yet easy to use, Web Browser Control Panel
**** Antenna Align / Signal Strength Reading - in Real Time
**** Extra Tools that other systems just don’t have. But we do!
* Marine Electronics Dealer / Installer Inquiries Wanted!
* Install it yourself, or contact us to arrange installation in South Florida.
* Complete System from around $800.00.
