I don’t own an iPhone, haven’t run out to get an Iphone v.4. So I don’t know, but there has been a buzz about the reception / built-in antenna on the iPhone version4.

On Friday Apple released a letter admitting the iPhone 4 has problems, but insisted they are due to a signal-strength formula that is “totally wrong” and not caused by the antenna design. Since then the news has saturated tech blogs, Apple support sites and message boards — and it seems like most people aren’t buying Apple’s explanation.
Apple says the erroneous formula displays more bars than it should and that the sudden drop some users see when gripping the phone in a certain way is the because the “high bars were never real in the first place.”

* Of course if you are always in a lousy signal area, which I seem to be in with AT&T at home, then dropping calls is a norm anyway… along with missing calls. If you are down to 2 bars and less you are in the mud anyway it doesn’t take much of a hand holding the phone a certain way to have zero signal bars.
* For marine and others we can provide external antennas for cellular applications as well as cellular amplifiers to increase your signal strength.
