Someone emailed me this and I had to go find the link:
Anyway according to this (and Microsofts own Windows 7 Gadget) Windows XP is under 500 days of support remaining. After that you would be on your own as far as support and updates … potentially leaving you vulnerable to exploits and viruses and such to your computer running Windows XP. A PC, however, isolated from the Internet … or protected from such problems by a firewall and other protections could no doubt survive longer … but the question is why would you want to remain on XP? No ddoubt Microsoft is trying to make Windows XP a Dinasaur of an Operating System and they have good reason. They have to get the remaining (whatever percent) to upgrade at least to Windows 7. No doubt some time later the same fate will happen to Windows 7 as they have to force everyone onto Windows 8.
* Anyway if anyone on sail or motor yachts (other marine vessels) needs computer updates or upgrades please contact me.
